A vibrant and diverse selection of vendors and media representatives gathered at S43 to learn more about the upcoming Cannacon in Durban. The speeches made by Krithi Thaver, Ant Molgora and Andrew Loubser were informative and shared a unified sentiment - Cannacon is for the community, by the community. The passion for cannabis was overwhelming, and I could quickly see that this event was not about the money but for the love of the plant.
On arrival we were able to taste the Cannabis Energy Drink in it's three flavors. This refreshing drink does not contain any THC or CBD, and therefore is non-intoxicating. It is however infused with a small amount of hemp which adds to the flavor and drinking experience. To find out more about Cannabis Energy Drink go to http://www.cannabisenergydrink.com/
Another product being showcased was the Poison City - Durban Poison Cannabis Lager. This product was recently involved in some controversy, as SAPS in Hermanus pulled the beer off the shelves due to its cannabis content. The Durban Poison Cannabis Lager does not contain any cannabinoids and is therefore fully within the South African legality. Controversy aside, it is an extremely refreshing and crisp lager with a hint of the fragrant cannabis plant. To find out more about Poison City go to https://poison.city/

Cannacon is open from the 3rd till the 5th of May, at Northwood Crusaders Sports Club. The organizers felt that to truly capture to essence of the South African cannabis industry, this event would be held outside during a sunny part of the year. This just so happens to also coincide with the cannabis harvest season, so expect to smell some Durban Poison in the air.
Cannacon will provide a platfrom for companies involved in the cannabis industry to showcase their products and services. This event is not to be missed.
